Spring-ing into Summer

Transition is the process of change.  On a daily basis we all make decisions which affect our body and mind profoundly.  Late spring to early summer is a time to shed layers and get ready for some relaxing adventures.  With the increasing daylight we instinctively lighten up, move more, eat more fresh fruits and vegetables and crave immersion in Nature.

Reiki helps people and animals move through transitions with grace and ease.  Reiki is effective for restoring balance and facilitating one’s own healing response.

I am Luella Crockett and I practice Reiki  in Salem Virginia.  If you are interested in a session, feel free to call me at 540-397-1355 to find out more about how Reiki can benifit  you.

Winter Blues

At this time of year it’s normal to feel a little blue. The drop in temperature and grey sky’s can easily bring us down. Many people experience lack of energy, depression, pain and insomnia during the long winter months. Fortunately there are lots of ways to fight the winter blues one of which is Reiki. The lack of sunlight and decrease in activity lead to blockages and stagnation of our energy. The gentle, balancing energy of Reiki helps improve mood and relieve anxiety, offering calm support to help you move through daily life with more ease and clarity. Reiki fills you with a sense of energy, light and wellbeing. It can help you be more balanced which will boost your immune system, making it less likely that you will succumb to the winter colds and flu. Reiki can also assist if you do become sick. By improving energy flow, bringing relaxation and better sleep it increases the body’s ability to stay well and relax.

My name is Luella Crockett and my Reiki practice is in Salem Virginia. Call 540-397-1355 to make an appointment.

Carilion Clinic prescribes Reiki for pain

This is a great article in the Roanoke Times.

“Interest has been growing by health care providers to look at more holistic ways of treating pain rather than relying only on prescriptions.”

by Paramahansa Yogananda

Is friendship the weaving of the red strings of two hearts?
Is it the blending of two minds into a spacious one-mind?
Is it the sprouting of love founts together —
To strengthen the rush of love on droughty souls?
Is i the one rose grown ‘twist twin mind-branchlets
Of one compassionate stem?
Is it the one thinking in two bodies?

Friendship is noble, fruitful, holy —
When two separate souls march in difference
Yet in harmony, agreeing and disagreeing,
Growing, improving diversely,
With one common longing to find solace in true pleasure.
When ne’er the lover seeks
Self-comfort at the cost of the one beloved,
Then, in that garden of selflessness
Fragrant friendship perfectly flowers.

Ah, friendship!  Flowering, heaven-born plant!
Nurtured art thou in the soil of measureless love,
In the seeking of soul-progress together
By two who would smooth the way each for the other.
And thou art watered by attention of affection
And tender dews of inner and outer sweetness
Of the inmost, selfless heart’s devotion.
Ah, friendship! Where thy soul-born flowers fall —
There on that sacred shrine of fragrance —
The Friend of all Friends craves to come and to remain!
